I’m not a big fan of add-on browser toolbars (too many bad memories of malware), so I avoid using them whenever possible. But Google, in its love of all things Linux, has made the Google Toolbar real easy to install on the Firefox version for Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala, so if you’re interested, here’s how to do it:

First, navigate to the Google Toolbar page here:

http://toolbar.google.com

Click on the Install Now button, and then agree to Google’s license terms. After a few moments Firefox will ask if you trust the install source. Click on the Install Now button, and Firefox will install Google Toolbar for you.

After the installation is complete, hit the Restart Firefox Now button. Firefox will close, and when it reopens, you’ll have access to Google Toolbar.
