Ubuntu users hate Unity

Phoronix recently ran a survey asking its readers what they dislike about Ubuntu.

Apparently, they really, really hate Unity. Unity inspires a love it or hate it reaction, but it looks like hate is so far predominating.

I’ve been using Ubuntu since about 2006. Some of the versions since then have sucked, some have been great, but I stuck with them all.

But this abominable, dumbed-down, workflow-roadblock disaster called Unity is just the end of the road. I’m an ex-Ubuntu user.

Fortunately, as of 11.10 it’s now possible to install GNOME Shell on Ubuntu. And there’s always Kubuntu for KDE fans.

I was pretty happy with Narwhal. Made a HUGE mistake upgrading to Ocelot. What a bunch of bunk… slow, buggy… hate it!. I want to go back to Narwhal but I don’t know if it’s possible. AAARRGGHH….
