Comment policy

I have comment moderation turned on, so if you’re posting for the first time, your comment won’t show up until I get around to approving it. Don’t worry if it doesn’t appear right away; I always get around to checking the comment queue sooner or later.

Comments are deleted or retained solely at my whim. (I am more likely to retain your comment, however, if it stays within the bounds of civility.)

CONCERNING SPECIFIC TECHNICAL QUESTIONS:

Feel free to leave specific technical questions in the comments, though please keep it on topic of the specific post. I’m afraid I generally don’t have time to respond to specific technical questions. However, other commenters have answered specific questions in the past, so it never hurts to ask.

  1. I just purchased and had delivered *The Ubuntu Beginner’s Guide, 5th edition*. On Amazon’s site the Kindle version of this is represented as 5th edition; however, the copyright page and introduction suggest that it is the 4th edition. There is a paragraph a bit further down that lists changes for the 5th edition. You probably can understand how that might raise concerns that, whichever it is, the edition was not very carefully proofread. Are there other significant errors? Overall the book looks useful. Thanks!
