I will give you a $10 Amazon gift card…

UPDATE: The contest is now closed! Thanks, everyone, who participated.

…if you win my little contest.

Here’s the details.

On June 1, 2011, I will give away six $5 Amazon gift cards and two $10 Amazon gift cards, with the winners chosen by random drawing. To enter the contest, simply leave a comment here with your email address.

That’s it!

Of course, you can pad your chances of winning. Considerably.

See, I’ve got these books available:

Demonsouled, a sword and sorcery novel.

Soul of Tyrants, the sequel to Demonsouled.

Share the Pain, a mystery/thriller novel.

The $0.99 Ubuntu Beginner’s Guide, a technical book.

Buy any one of these books (from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or Smashwords) after 8:00 AM on May 16th, 2011, forward me the email receipt (my address is jmcontact -at- jonathanmoeller.com), and I’ll enter your email address into the drawing an additional three times. By any two of these books, and I’ll enter your email address into the drawing six times. Buy any three of them, and I’ll enter your email address nine times. And buy all four, and I’ll enter your email address into the drawing twelve times.

“But Jon!” you might say. “Ebooks are expensive, and that’s a lot books to buy just to win a lousy $5 or $10 Amazon gift card!”

Not at all – you don’t have to buy anything to enter the drawing. Just leave your email address, and I’ll enter it into the drawing – but only once.

And each of my ebooks are only $0.99. So even if you buy only one, if you win the drawing that’s a potential profit of $4.01 or $9.01. Heck, even if you buy all four, that’s still a potential profit of $1.04 or $6.04. It’s a very low-cost way to gamble.

Two notes:

-Each individual email address can only win two of the eight gift cards. Share the love, people, share the love.

-I will use the rand random-number generation program on Ubuntu 11.04 to select the winners.

People have been telling me for years…

…to write something other than fantasy novels.

“Jon!” they’ll say. “You should, like, totally write something set in the 21st century. With no magic, or wizards, or elves, or women with swords!”

But I like reading books with sword-wielding women. On the other hand, I also like murder mysteries. Why not do both? So I wrote myself a little murder mystery:

(Thanks to Maria P for suggesting the idea of using a lightning bolt for the cover.)

So what, you ask, if this book about? Well, read on:

Mac Rogan’s got problems. He’s twenty thousand dollars in debt, his mother’s in prison for murder, his brother’s recovering from war injuries, and his roommates can’t make a decent cup of coffee. But Mac’s got a job interview coming up, one that might turn things around for him.

Except someone shot the interviewer to death.

And the police think Mac did it.

And a powerful Senator wants to pin the murder on Mac.

And some pyromaniacal eco-terrorists have taken a sudden warm interest in him.

Mac swore that his days as a private investigator were over. But he’s going to need all his wits and savvy to come out of this with his freedom, his finances – and even his life – still intact.

Because it turns out there are a lot of people who want to share their pain with him…

If that sounds intriguing, you can read the first chapter (for free) right here on my main site.

And if the first chapter is interesting, you can get the book at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords.
