What woman could love this dark, tormented, brooding figure?

At the gym last night, I saw a trailer for an upcoming film called “Beastly“.  Apparently it is the standard boilerplate plot of a Rich Jerk who is cursed with ugliness, learns the power of True Wuv, and then lives Happily Ever After.

The trailer made me laugh. Which, really, is not something you want to happen while you’re running a mile in a eight minutes, since you need respiration for something else just then, but that’s a different story.

Penny Arcade neatly sums up why the premise is so unintentionally hilarious.

Nevertheless, it will most probably make a ton of money. After all, the mathematics prove that chicks dig romance, no matter how implausible.
