Very nice. I particularly liked how Nadia, while still pretty unhinged, was starting to get her mental act back together a little bit. The Rory vs. Riordan thing was cute, though it seems to me Nadia would’ve seen through that since that’s the sort of thing her paranoia makes her on the lookout for.
I don’t get (from the epilogue): “But he [Riordan] didn’t have the right. She had broken up with him, and that was that.” Because at that point, he knows she broke up with him to protect him but she “hated to do it” so it seems that should invalidate the break up in his mind.
Also, Riordan had opportunities to fulfill his contract by killing Conner. Shouldn’t he have taken those opportunities?
Not many typos and I won’t bother with a typo pass but here are some that I noticed:
nothing that I would slow me down ==> nothing that would slow me down
If used any spell ==> If I used any spell
“Though you might be thirsty.” ==> Thought you might be thirsty.”
But he still was still a ruthless ==> But he still was a ruthless

Nadia’s trying not to think about Riordan anyway, and she thinks she made a clean break with everyone in her life before TRUTH CHAIN. She does realize there’s something off about Murdo, but it doesn’t click that it might be Riordan. It helps that the High Queen gave Riordan an undetectable method of magical disguise.
Originally, the book’s prologue was just the scene with Corbisher and Lorenz, but I read Murdo’s scenes over and realized that it would obvious to the reader who Murdo really was, so I added the last scene at the diner.

Before they met, Riordan had two long-term relationships (Sasha and Miranda) and Nadia just one (Nicholas), and all those relationships ended badly. Considering that both of Riordan’s previous relationships ended with Sasha and Miranda trying to murder him, he figures that maybe it’s for the best Nadia broke up with him. But his conscience won’t let him walk away while Nadia’s still in danger.

Connor is cautious enough to make sure Riordan never catches him alone. Also, what Riordan knows, but Nadia does not, is that shooting Connor in the head would just make him angry. But more on that to come. 🙂
I am just looking forward to seeing how bat$&@t crazy Nadia goes when the rebels make a play on her family. She probably won’t take it well.
Well, the next book IS going to be called BLOOD CAST. 🙂
I’M SENSING A DRAGONSTONE IN THE NEAR FUTURE JM! Also.. it seems to me Nadia is awfully nice. *Spoiler* I mean she knows the guy who gropes her is a rapist and a murderer and she JUST got taught how to make a lightsaber with magic. Yet she doesn’t tauntaun his @%$. She could save herself an awful lot of trouble if every time someone went, “I am going to kill you.” She went “Really, how ya going to do that without a head?”
She was too paranoid to kill Lorenz. If she killed him, that could start her fight with Nicholas that she might not win. And even if she did win, Morvilind might blame her for breaking the deal and stop casting his cure spells.
But when the deal’s done and all three things are stolen, all bets are off. 🙂 But Nicholas knows this…
