Caina is now a Ghost nightfighter, with the cunning of an elite spy and the skill of a master assassin.

But this time, it might take more than that to keep her alive.

Caina has been sent to hunt a murderous pyromancer, a master of fiery sorcery, and she soon discovers that more is at stake than just a few murders.

Because if she doesn’t find the pyromancer soon, the entire world might burn.

Stories/plots are great. The punctuation and missing words, basically, ruin the read. Too bad. Also, the price advertised here is less than on Amazon and the other sites. If the books could be read without all the errors, I would recommend them to everyone. But why buy stories that are written incorrectly? Too bad.

I checked, and it looks like GHOST IN THE FLAMES is at $2.99 on all the American ebook sites. (The UK price tends to fluctuate based on the current exchange rate for dollars/pounds.) If you have trouble finding it, let me know and I’ll generate a Smashwords coupon.

I liked the first book despite several things and am thinking about getting this one. However I am curious as to how many books are planned for the Ghost series- any ideas?

    • jmoellerwriter says:

      Hi Roxie!

Thanks for the kind words about the book!

I am definitely planning six THE GHOSTS box and a couple of novellas. It may go longer than that, though.

I enjoyed this quick and adventure-filled read. This series has been my nightly read and helps me to leave the day behind. However, the ebook version is full of misspellings, grammatical errors, and missing words. It would greatly enhance the book if the care that was placed in the writing extended to the ebook presentation.

Thanks for the kind words about the books!

I’m working on the typo thing – finding a good copyeditor is surprisingly challenging.

I can’t wait to read the second book, the first one was so cool I loved it. I love how that you can’t expect anything in it, where as most books are so pridictible this one is an amazingly written book with a great story line. Can’t wait til the second one.
    YAY!!!!!!!!

  8. Lollipops rule says:

Love the book!! Its sooooooooooo cool!!!!!!!!!!! :) :):):):):)
Hi I know you might be busy, but I need some help. I want to write a book but I’m stuck. :( I need some advice. Please help.
Would you be able to help. All suggestions welcome including names for charactes.

    • jmoellerwriter says:

      Sure!

Bear in mind that all stories must have an opening, a climax, and a resolution. Every story has essentially three parts. 1.) Protagonist has problem. 2.) Protagonist attempts to deal with problem, while suffering setbacks, complications, and new side problems. 3.) Protagonist overcomes or resolves the problem in some way, with or without grave personal cost and sacrifice.

I also find that it’s a good idea to outline a story thoroughly before attempting to write it. That way I’m not flailing around halfway through the story trying to figure out what happens next.

The key to writing believable characters is to remember that real people frequently want contradictory things. Like, a man could want to spend Christmas with his parents and his wife’s family, but he can’t actually do both and has to choose. (This can help set up the conflict in the story.) In a fantasy story, for example, the protagonist might have a spell to save the life of his brother or sister…but he can only pick one. His efforts to deal with this can form the backbone of the story.

Your protagonist must take action (even if it backfires) – he or she cannot wait around for things to happen to him. Passive protagonists are boring. Additionally, a villain should not be evil just for the sake of being evil – the villain should have a goal that (immoral or not) puts him in conflict with the protagonist.

If you’ve never written a novel before, it might help to try a few short stories or novellas first. They’re good practice for things like plot structure and characterization.

      Hope that helps!

Just finished reading your first book and have to admit it was really good. I love the way how you made the readers want to read more because you wrote it in a way where its all action all around. Something interesting is always happening whichever entices us to not want to stop reading the book!!!!
I am a huge reader and lately I have been reading random books of unknown writers to see if they are good and suggest it to those around me and my blog!!
lastly I cant wait to get all your other books to see what fun she gets into now!!!

    • jmoellerwriter says:

Thank you! I’m glad you liked the book.

Currently there are five Caina books, with one accompanying novella. If all goes well I hope start writing the sixth book, GHOST IN THE FORGE, sometime in February.

Haven’ t enjoyed a fantasy novel as much since Eddings ‘ Belgariad’ series. Can’ t wait to get stuck in to the rest of Ghosts.

  11. Sierra f says:

I can’t wait to read this! I just finished your first book and I loved it all the cultures coming together and fitting like puzzle pieces! how about extending the series where Caina adopts a child and trains it to be a ghost but ends up being a traitor and is hunted down by other ghosts and in the end everything ends up being okay!

  12. i normally dont like spy books and that kind of stuff, but i enjoyed this series. just not as much as i did with demonsouled.

    • jmoellerwriter says:

Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’ve noticed that some people like DEMONSOULED, and some people like THE GHOSTS, but they don’t always overlap. But that’s okay.

  13. Deborah says:

Enjoyed the book and looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I am easily distracted by typos and such when reading so please try to find a copy editor that is good :) This seems to be more prevelant in the ebooks than the paper/hardback books, not sure why.

    • jmoellerwriter says:

Thanks for the kind words about the book! I’m glad you liked it.

Sorry about the typos – I’ve had bad luck with copyeditors. :(

  14. claire says:

Loved it, easy to read and follow, enjoyed the character she became very real as the story progressed, looking forward to her frowning into adulthood

Actually, GHOST IN THE FLAMES was the first book about Caina I ever wrote. I wrote CHILD OF THE GHOSTS two years later when I decided to do Caina’s origin story.

  15. Sasha says:

I enjoy stories like Caina’s. Especially the fact that she was but a girl who did not allow herself to break and grew into one remarkable woman. Reminds me of a few other stories I stumbled upon in my high school library days. Truly enjoyable. Thank you for creating a good read. Keep up the good work.
