      1. Ghost in the stone was amazing. I love your work. thank you continuing to write wonderful literature. I look forward to the next volume.

        1. Thanks! I’m glad you liked it.

I’m making good progress on GHOST IN THE FORGE, and I’m hoping to have it ready by the end of spring.

    1. Hi John like most I started with the Frostborn and I wish you would make the last three longer. But once I got caught up I bought demonsouled and Mazael and Ridmark are my heros lol. Third soul series read and looking forward to more of them, halfway through the ghost series. I guess what I am saying is your my favorite author now and I was interested in the demonsouled books you have in hardback. I read in the short discription that you had some published. Just wondering if you had any signed to sell. Would love to buy them all in hardback but I doubght that will happen, thank you for countless hours of nail biteing reading.

      1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed all the books. I’m hoping to start on Frostborn #13 tomorrow morning.

I don’t have any signed hardbacks, I’m afraid. I’ve looked into doing hardbacks of some of my later books, but it wouldn’t be terribly economical – like $35 a copy and up.

        1. I have just finished ‘Ghost in the Flames’ and I am really enjoying the series so far. You have a knack for action scenes and can really move the story along. I laughed out loud at the bathhouse scene . The only niggle is the amount of grammatical errors, more in this book than the first, what’s that all about?

          1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the books.

Typos are like Pokemon – you can never catch them all.

        1. Thanks! I’m glad you liked the FROSTBORN.

I’m planning to start on the next FROSTBORN book in August, so it should come out before the end of 2015 if all goes well.

  1. I downloaded Demonsouled for my Kindle because it sounded interesting and was a free download. One month has passed and I now own and have read the entire series plus the entire “Ghosts” series as well. Please keep em coming.

  2. I have bought and read everyone of ur books. I love mazael and caina and both series would make great movies or video games or even a tv series. I think ridley scott word do wonders with mazael and co in the demonsouled series. U have helped me through a lot of sleepless nights thankyou and can not wait for more just finished ghost in the stone and what a bloody cliffhanger to leave it on.

The endless tower series god i was beyond gutted it ended i want to know more. How ali and lithon rebuild the high kingdoms what becomes of conmager maybe you could do a stand alone novella of 10-30 years later that would do me nicely.
Anyway il stop blabbering on but u have a fan in me and if u would like any opinions on anything please dont hesitate to drop me an email

    1. Hi Michael,

Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’m glad you liked them.

As for the TOWER OF ENDLESS WORLDS books, I’m not entirely sure what would come next. I do know that the High Kingdoms would be a very different place. They had been a medieval society, but Marugon exposed their people (at least those who survived) to a much higher level of technology, and he brought a lot of stuff from Earth. Someone would have figured out how to reverse-engineer at least some of it. So the High Kingdoms would have at least a 18th or 19th century level of technology – perhaps even something like a steampunk world.

The ending of GHOST IN THE STONE was fun to write. I’m working on SOUL OF SKULLS right now, but if all goes well I should start the next GHOST book in January or February.

      Jon Moeller

  3. Yes i know what you mean about the high kingdoms. Imagine a world with magic, demonlike creatures and a good basis on todays technology

  4. i would just like to say how amazing the ghost series is. i read them all on 2 day but i really need to read the last one the ghost in the forge, when is it being relased on kindle?
    thanks jessie x x

    1. Thanks! I’m glad you liked the books.

If all goes well, I’m going to start writing GHOST IN THE FORGE in mid-January, and will have it ready on Kindle by the end of April or so.

  5. I can’t wait for “Ghost in the Forge” this is my favorite book series! It beat “The Hunger Games” and that’s a hard book series to beat!

      1. Thanks for the kind words about the books!

I just wrapped up my last project, so I’m going to start writing GHOST IN THE FORGE sometime next week. If all goes well, it should be out in March or April.

  6. Awesome a perfect assassin book from start to end but wot happens to Caina the moraica and courvious I need to know !!!!!! Please send me a few chapters so I can move on and read your other books pleaseΒ·

    1. Thanks! I’m writing the sequel right now, and I’ll post here at this site as soon as it’s ready. (You can also get immediate notification by signing up for my newsletter.)

    1. Thanks! I’m glad you liked it.

If all goes well, I should be able to start writing the next book by this summer.

  7. I stumbled across your book one day while searching amazon, and I must say, I was instantly hooked. I’ve read your entire Ghost series in the past week, I could barely put it down.
Despite that, I found some things irritating with your writing. I am, by no means, a master at critique, but regard myself as a… connoisseur, of books I suppose. And being a writer myself, I can honestly say, there is no bad feedback if its constructive.
Minor points– you often reuse phrases and distinctive words repeatedly. Also, I would almost think you a fan of comic books, for the way you create situations to transition from one to the next.
But again, these are minor distractions, for the over all storyline you’ve created is magnificent, fun, and enjoyable. Truly, a great series, and I look forward to your next work.

    1. Thanks! I’m glad you liked the books.

I do tend to reuse words. With the last couple of books, I’ve kept a list of banned words and phrases I don’t allow myself to use (grimaced, after all, smirked, etc.), and then do a Word search at the end of the book to make sure I didn’t use them more than five times.

I think THE GHOSTS would transition well to a comic-book format. I have to admit that I sometimes see the characters in anime form in my head as I write.

  8. I like most of your books that I have read, but I LOVE the Demonsouled series and I wish you could write faster. Can’t wait for the next one!

  9. i picked up the first demonsouled book because it was free, liked it, but didn’t think i was going to get sucked in like I did! I have just finished the soul of skulls, and i am sooo mad that the next one isn’t out yet!

i also noticed some repetition in the books, but it has gotten much better, as has the editing. now i can blow through the books and enjoy them! thank you for writing a rich, well thought out and constructed book and world! summer won’t come soon enough! keep writing!

    1. “…liked it, but didn’t think i was going to get sucked in like I did!”

Thanks! Those are my favorite kind of reviews. πŸ™‚

I do think the books have gotten better as I’ve gone along, but that might be from sheer amount of practice. I wrote DEMONSOULED in 2001, and I’ve done a lot of writing since then. So I hope I’ve gotten at least a bit better. πŸ™‚

  10. Hi.

I love your works. Started reading them on my iPhone a couple of weeks ago, finished the Demonsouled, Ghost and Third Soul series’ (and a couple of short stories). (I had to buy 1 on Smashwords, got the rest on itunes) Will start the Tower series today or tomorrow. My favorite is the Demonsouled. IMHO more (and more detailed) characters, more realistic (if Fantasy can be realistic) consistency in plot lines. This reader became more “involved” with the characters in that series (as opposed to the others). Others were good but I liked Demonsouled the best. Good luck on all your writing. Can’t wait for the next in any series to come out.

    I remain,

    a devoted fan

    1. Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’m glad you liked them. It’s always amusing that someone can read in a few weeks pretty much everything I’ve written in the last ten years. πŸ™‚

If all goes well, I should have a new novella and two short novels in THE THIRD SOUL coming out at the end of the month.

  11. Just finished soul of skulls amazing good work bring all that together. Brring on soul of swords can not wait

    1. I’m glad you liked it!

If all goes well, I should be able to start writing SOUL OF SWORDS in the first week of April.

  12. Hi Jonathan, I’ve just finished the demonsouled series and I’m looking forward for the next one. I am a big fan of fantasy but it is hard to find well written and strong stories like yours. Your style is just worderful to me. Mazael my hero. I got a couple of books waiting but I will get back to you and read your other novels soon.

Have you considered to translate your series into Spanish?

Thank you for such a wonderful writting

    1. Hi Pepe,

Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’m glad you like them.

I definitely would like non-English translations. That said, a good translator is *expensive* – translating a novel-length work can be anywhere from $5000 to $15000, depending on the translator. So for now, a non-English translation isn’t feasible for me to do.

  13. i am such a fan of the paranormal reading and a member of bookbob i get my ebooks for free i could not stop read the first book of the gost series the child of ghost can not wait6for the next one

    1. Thanks for the kind words about the book! I’m glad you liked it.

There are currently five more books in THE GHOSTS series after CHILD OF THE GHOSTS, and I’m going to start writing a new one in June.

  14. When do you think you will have “Ghost in the Ashes” done? I started reading the ghost series sometime last year and I just can’t wait for the next book!

    1. Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’m glad you’ve liked them.

I started writing the rough draft of GHOST IN THE ASHES on Friday, and I’m currently on Chapter 6 of 25. Barring unexpected difficulties, it should come out towards the end of July or the beginning of August.

  15. I love the Ghost series πŸ™‚ Your plots are very interesting, and I truly enjoy your style. Looking very forward to Ghost in the Ashes.

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you liked the books.

I’m making good progress on GHOST IN THE ASHES, and I’m hoping to have it out the week after the Fourth of July.

  16. I’m truly in love with your Ghost books. I only bought the first one because it was free, but have now bought and read the rest of the series in a matter of a couple of weeks. Cannot wait for the Ghost in the Ashes to be released. Thank you for the brilliant escape from reality.

    1. Thanks! I’m glad you liked them. I’m putting the finishing touches on GHOST IN THE ASHES, and if all goes well it should be up next week.

  17. This book is absolutly Amazing even me as a 13year old fell in love with the book. It would be cool if it was turned into a movie. Iam looking forward to the next one.

  18. I thought “Ghost in the Ashes” very comical at the end when Sinan kept coming back and everybody having to rush out the door all over again!

  19. Your books rock! I love the ghost books. How did you come up with such an idea as the ghost books and all your other books. There awesome. You must have thought alot about what you were gonna write because you wrote in such a creative way

    1. Hi Celia,

Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’m glad you liked them.

I do have plenty of ideas for books – my problem isn’t lack of ideas, but lack of time to turn them all into books. πŸ™‚

Here is a link to a longer essay I wrote a while back describing how I got the idea for THE GHOSTS series:

  20. I have just finished reading the first two books in your “Ghosts” series. They are magical and filled with the most delightful intrigue! Now I am about to download your third book, “Ghost in the Blood”. I have read over some of your reviews, and as far as I am concerned, a few spelling errors or repetition of word simply DON’T matter. What does matter is that you write the most intriguing book of any author I have come across in a very long time! Please keep doing what you do best! Jan T.

    1. Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’m glad you liked them.

Right now I’m almost done with the rough draft of GHOSTS #8, GHOST IN THE MASK.

  21. I’ve been reading comments on this page and you said you finished the rough draft for Ghost in the Mask, when do you think the book will be out or when do you hope the book will be out?

  22. I really love the `Ghost` series and I think your a great writer! When do you think you will have “Ghost in the Mask” done?

    1. Thanks! I’m glad you liked the books.

I’m not quite done with the GHOST IN THE MASK rough draft – I’m currently on Chapter 24 of 29. If all goes well, I hope to have it out towards the end of September or early October.

  23. I just wanted to say thank you for books, I was never much of a reader, but since my kids got the wife and I each Nooks. I have read all of the demon soul series, Ghost series and just finished the last of the Third Soul series and I can’t wait for the next one to see what will happen to the ring.
    Thanks again

    1. Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’m very glad you liked them.

I’m hoping to get at least the rough draft of another THE THIRD SOUL book written before the end of 2013.

  24. I love the Ghost series and don’t want to see it end! How many books will the series be and when do you plan to have Ghost in the Surge out?

    1. P.S. I have read all your Ghost books about five times each except Ghost in the Stone! I have read that one about eight times!

      1. Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’m glad you liked them. πŸ™‚

I confess I am unsure how many books there will be in the Ghosts series. GHOST IN THE SURGE definitely won’t be the last one, though. If all goes well, I should start writing it in December, and have it out sometime in quarter one of 2014.

        1. Must say i am totally hooked on the Ghost and frost born books. Only thing i would ask is that the hero be less chastising of himself. Other than that, keep them coming.

          1. Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’m glad you liked them.

Ridmark does come to something of an internal crisis point in FROSTBORN: THE IRON TOWER.

      2. I like to build in time in case something unexpected comes up. Here in Real Life I have a bunch of responsibilities than can come up unexpectedly (I had a bunch last month), and those can take precedence. So I find it’s best to build in some extra time in case of disaster.

        1. Well that’s good you never know something might happen, though in the mean time keep stockpiling those good ideas of yours in your head!

  25. Started with Demonsouled, got seriously hooked on your storie(s) in the proces of collecting all the others that you wrote.

    Frostborn is amazing.

Thanks for all the stories i read so far, and those to come!

    1. Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’m glad you liked them.

If all goes well, I’m hoping to get at least a few chapters into the rough draft of the next FROSTBORN book before the end of the year.

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you liked the book.

In GHOST IN THE HUNT, Caina is going to get out of Istarinmul and see some of the adjoining regions. Not under relaxing conditions, of course. πŸ™‚

  26. I love these books! I can’t get enough. The only problem I have is deciding which one is better Frostborn or deamonsouled….

    1. Thanks! I’m going to write both more FROSTBORN and DEMONSOULED books, so hopefully this will not remain a dilemma for long. πŸ™‚

  27. Jonathan. I have just discovered your books and I am in the process of reading Frostborn. It is wonderful. You have a wonderful talent and by the look of your repotoir I will have plenty of reading for the foreseeable future. One thing I noticed with your e-books is the errors in the publishing. I am not trying to be nasty but hope to offer some help. I have done some proof reading training. And would be happy to help with that if it helped you. The only reward I would expect would be knowing I was helping with a book I would be dying to read. Email me if you think I can help. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you liked the Frostborn books. The typo thing is a problem – I’ve had bad luck with a number of proofreaders, but hope to have someone hired soon.

  28. Hanging on with “baited breath” for the next book :”Frostborne The False King” I am so hooked! Please, please let me know when that book is out through Google Play. Will buy immediately. I have read the entire series of the Frostborne and your books are true to the essence of the plot of your characters. You are a very talented writer.
I have enjoyed this series more than any other books I have downloaded on Google play (and I have downloaded and lot of books). I hope to hear from you soon!

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the FROSTBORN books. If all goes well, I should be able to start working on THE FALSE KING in a few weeks and have it out this summer.

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the books. No plans for a movie yet though I wouldn’t object to one.

  29. FYI, the confirmation email for the newsletter is being marked as SPAM (by both and McAfee Anti-Spam filter).

You should probably add more text in the mail, since the “text to link” is not very high, or include Jonathan Moeller in the subject line.

  30. I am eager for your book 14 of the frostborn series. Hurry up mid 2017! The end is near and yet so much to be done, nothing else is quite appealing to read at the moment, you are an evil man Jonathan!
