Caina Amalas is a Ghost nightfighter, an assassin and spy of the Emperor, and her cunning saved the city of Marsis from a brutal invasion.

Now she must keep the war from becoming worse.

The nobles of the Imperial city of Cyrioch plan to revolt, and assassins stalk the high lords of the Empire. Only Caina stands between the Empire and a ruinous civil war.

But Caina faces a far more dangerous enemy than mere assassins.

A enemy that whispers from the darkness of her own mind…

    1. Thanks! I’ll add you to my email notification list, so you’ll receive word once GHOST IN THE STONE is ready (hopefully in early November).

  1. Love this series and the Demonsouled series! I can’t wait til the next book. I love that your books are a good length and not short like so many authors make. I am a girl in her mid 20’s so it goes without saying that I’m excited to see there will be a love interest in this next book. I’ve been surprisingly enthralled with this series without one so far though! I’ve been reading “filler books” waiting for book #5!

    1. Hi Joyce,

Thanks for the kind words about THE GHOSTS!

As of right now, I’m on chapter 23 of 27 of the rough draft for GHOST IN THE STONE. If all goes well, I should have it wrapped up by the end of October or the beginning of November.

  3. Good evening Jonathan, I love your books, I own and have read all of the Ghost,Soul,Demonsouled and Tower series. I frequent the site often to check in for updates and new releases. I just had one question, are you planning for the 4 main series to be ongoing series, I don’t mind because all of your characters are now near and dear to me (especially Caina) and I will buy any new books to the end. Just a question really

    1. Thanks!

I am planning 7 total books in the DEMONSOULED series, though I will return to the setting and some of the characters at some point. For the other series, I don’t have a fixed number of books in mind yet.

  4. I’m absolutely in Love with ur Ghost series!!!! I read them all in a single day! I cant wait till ur next book about Caina comes out. Your an amazing author and I really look forward to reading all of your other books!! Keep up the good work!

  5. I just read the chapter. Its just as addicting as the rest of the series!! 🙂 and if u don’t mind me asking how’d you come up with Caina and the whole series??

    1. That’s a good question, but it has a long answer. Check this site tomorrow for Reader Question Day, and I’ll have an answer for you.

  6. I’ve started reading Ghost in the Stone and I ws wondering if Kylon would ever be in this book. Also I love the idea of the blind slave, though I’m guessing she’s the one that turns people to stone. Also will Sicarion be in this book since he managed to survive having his arm blown off?

    1. Hi Stefaine,

Kylon isn’t in GHOST IN THE STONE (he’s busy wiping out most of the Empire’s western fleet). He will, however, be in the next book, GHOST IN THE FORGE.

Sicarion will definitely be back in GHOST IN THE STONE.

  7. Hi I just finished Ghost in the Stone and I’m kind of a romance finatic when it comes to Caina. Kylon seemed somewhat interested in Caina in Ghost in the Storm, will it lead to something else? Also how did you come up with the idea for Corvalis annd Caina’s relationship? One last question (sorry I am a Ghosts series maniac) how did you come up with the idea for this series and all its characters?

    1. Those are good questions, but they have longer answers. 🙂 Check in tomorrow for the Reader Question Day post for the full answer!

  8. Hi, I was wondering if you’re planning on adding any new characters in Ghost in the Forge. Are any old characters going to come back? (Besides Kylon, we all know he has to come back) My friend and I love your books, even though shes way further behind then I am. Whats Caina’s next adventure?

    1. Hi Stefanie,

Kylon is definitely going to come back. The POV in GHOST IN THE FORGE will rotate between Caina, Corvalis, and Kylon.

There will be some new characters, and a few of them will be connected to Corvalis. He had quite an eventful life before he met Caina, and did make some friends, along with some enemies. So some of them will seek him out.

  9. I love the Ghost series. I have read them all and they are my favorite books. I was wondering when the next book comes out.
    Thank you! For the series.

    1. Hi KD,

Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’m planning to start writing GHOST IN THE FORGE in January, and if all goes well it should come out in April or so.

  10. Hello! I was wonder what Halfdan’s background was and how he became a Ghost. It would be cool if you wrote a short story on it,or have you?

    1. I haven’t written a short story about Halfdan. But that’s a good idea – I usually give away a free short story every time I release a new THE GHOSTS novel, so that might be the topic of the free short story with GHOST IN THE ASHES.

  11. Hi! So I picked up your first book two days ago and am about to start GHOST IN THE STONE. I want to say how much I enjoy these books but feel like I’ve become an addict and don’t know what I’ll do once I’ve finished or caught up to the sixth book. You have ruined me (said jokingly, sort of). I just wanted to let you know that I really can’t remember a series of books I’ve so enjoyed where I would keep reading on. Normally, I may read a couple in a series and grow bored or disgusted with it being drawn out and give up with them. But I can’t see that happening with these. In fact, I normally avoid series that go on. So thanks for the Ghost series, I have greatly enjoyed them but my family may not appreciate them. 😉

    1. Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’m glad you liked them.

I have good news on that front – the seventh book just came out today. So you can delay the day of reckoning for at least one more book. 🙂

I share a lot of your annoyances with long-running series, and so try to avoid as many of those problems as possible in THE GHOSTS. Hopefully I have been successful thus far. 🙂

      1. Oh, what great news! Actually, I think I’ll save these next two books for a trip we are doing next week to St. Thomas. I’ll keep myself busy preparing for the trip so I won’t read them before. 😉
I got interested in your books through it being free on Amazon. Thanks for the very entertaining series.

  12. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your Ghost Series.
If you are ever in need of a proof reader, before publishing, I am all yours….lol

I love all the characters. I love trying to figure out what twist of fate will occur next.
I absolutely can’t wait to see what happens in the next book and the book after that one, etc etc. I just started this series this week. Next week I see myself laying for hours in my hammock while reading. Spring Break will pass me by while I am reading nonstop and becoming further addicted to your Ghost series.

So type on… Continue to work on your masterpieces!

    Your Ghost Follower

    1. Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’m glad you like them, and hope they make for entertaining Spring Break reading.

I’m about 40% of the way through GHOST IN THE INFERNO, so hopefully we shall have a new book soon!
