    1. Yes – GHOST IN THE HUNT. I’m writing it right now, and just got to Chapter 17 of 22 in the rough draft.

      -JM

  1. YAAAAYY I am so glad Caina’s story will continue even though her lost of [you-know-whom] makes my heart ache every time [their] names are brought up.

  2. I absolutely love these books! I can’t wait for this next one to come out I’m going through them so fast I just don’t want to wait!!

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you liked them. I’m wrapping up GHOST IN THE HUNT right now, and if all goes well it should be available on September 2nd.

  3. I love the Ghost books and Caina Amalas! I was glad that her storyline continued with the Exile series – it didn’t seem right to end her story as an exiled and heartbroken heroine.

Looking forward to “Ghost in the Hunt”.

PS: I wonder the third soul series is officially ended or will we ever see Rachaelis, Corthain and Thalia again ? I hated the primary POV switch to other sets of characters – not that they were bad but I liked the starting set much better and was used to them! I suspect many readers might have felt this way too.

    1. Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’m glad you liked them. 🙂

I am uploading GHOST IN THE HUNT as I type this, so it should be available very shortly.

For THE THIRD SOUL, it’s not done yet, and I want to return to it. I just haven’t been able to find the time yet! When I do, I want to do a proper trilogy of novels rather than a group of novellas.

  4. I’ve really enjoyed the series so far. I’ve just finished Ghost in the Hunt, and was gutted that exile #4 wasn’t there. When will it be coming out?

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you liked the book.

I think #4 will be in late January or early February. Earlier, if I can manage it, but late January/early February is the likeliest right now.

  5. I have read all the comments on your books. Didn’t read any of them so far. But now I’m wondering. Is there a serie that is completed allready and which one should I start with.

    1. DEMONSOULED and the first GHOSTS series are done – you can start with CHILD OF THE GHOSTS and DEMONSOULED, which are both currently free on all ebook platforms.

      Thanks!

      -JM

    2. Read child of the ghosts. I’ve always been an avid reader and let me tell you they are definitely my favorite books of all time. He did such a great job telling Cainas story

  6. Dear Jonathan,
I adore all your Caina Amalas books, and so much I didn’t even try to illegally download them! Please, when will the next Ghost Exile book be published? I need to know what happens, and there is so much going on with the alchemist’s evil plan!
    All the best,
    Ioana

    1. Thanks for the kind words about the books! Not pirating them, truly, is the highest compliment of all. 🙂

I’m editing GHOST IN THE RAZOR right now, and I should have it out in mid-January.

      -JM

    1. Thanks! That was an interesting essay.

I would like to say that I had the idea for The Sifter while reading essays about quantum physics or reading Thomas Aquinas’s and Augustine’s writings about eternity and God, but in fact the idea for The Sifter came to me while watching a preview for HOT TUB TIME MACHINE 2. 🙂

  7. I am speechless. I just read all your books all over again, but instead of reading 1b/h (see what I did there? 😛 like 1mph, like 1bookperhour 😀 ) I tried to read them slowly. It was torture, since, even though I read them 100 times, I still can’t wait for the next part. I think I missed half the info you wrote when I first read you books. Only now do I understand most of the questions which were lingering in my head whenever I read your books. So, this time, I’m not asking, I’m confirming that you definitely have a demon inside your head. Shush shush, I’m not going to listen to anything else, so go sit in the corner for lying 😉 I would ask you to stab yourself with ghostsilver to make the demon go away, but then you would probably be dead, and you wouldn’t be in any condition to write more books. So here is what I ask of you: tell your demon to write even faster, and give me Cassander’s phone number so he can bind an awesome demon to me 😀

    1. Thanks! Though I fear you would be less impressed if you knew just how much of the books I made up on the fly as I went along. 🙂

  8. The best thing I loved about ‘Child of Ghost’ series is the character development not only in the main character but also in most side-character. Everyone has a part to play in your books and the world building has been amazing. You have made me cry, worry, smile, laugh, get annoyed and every other emotion, whether good or bad through your books. Hats off and hope to get more of Caina’s world.

PS – Can we hope for any romance in her life? I was so upset when Corvalis died and she almost lost her will to live. She deserves someone else to stand with her.

    1. Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’m glad you liked them.

There will be romance in future GHOST EXILE books – but the characters have to work for it. 🙂

  9. Do you have a reading order list as to where the short stories merge with the main story line for the Ghost and Ghost Exile series?

    1. Yes I do. Here it is:

      Child of the Ghosts
      Ghost Aria
      Ghost in the Flames
      Ghost Dagger
      Ghost Light
      Ghost in the Blood

  10. Completed Ghost in the Inferno. Love it. I’m so glad you brought Kylon back. Sad about his wife but can’t wait to see what’s in store for him and Caina. Now anxiously waiting for the next. Please tell me it will be out soon.

    1. Thanks for the kind words about the books! I’m glad you liked GHOST IN THE INFERNO.

If all goes well, I think GHOST IN THE SEAL should be ready in late July.

  11. OMG. Love these books soooo much. Always keep a look out on Amazon for when the next is out, then tell myself I need to wait for a bit so I don’t have such a long wait until the next Caina instalment.

    Never happens.

Such a well written, deep and encapsulating series and I’m always telling people to read them! xx

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you liked GHOST EXILE.

I just finished Chapter 14 of GHOST IN THE SEAL, so I should have the rough draft done before the end of June.

  12. Could you please re-post the complete (short + long) reading order list, but including the publications where the short works can be found? Thanks. Actually, you might want to make that part of the page itself, rather than ~buried~ way down in the comments; then you could update it as any more are written.

    1. I do need to update this page. Meanwhile, here is the complete list:

      Child of the Ghosts
      Ghost Aria

  13. I have been so hooked with Ghost Exile that I have read 2 books in 2 days!!! And if you consider I have to go to work, that leaves all my evenings only to read.
I see there are 6 books, are more coming or those are all? Or is the saga bigger?
I have to be honest is the first time I read your books and I loved them! So not familiar with your work (my apologies)

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the GHOST EXILE series so far.

I’m planning for a grand total of nine GHOST EXILE books, and will start the next one in October.

      -JM

  14. Thanks very much for your prompt response!!
I see myself struggling to keep my anxiety for the upcoming books, because at this rate will have the 6 books read within a week, then will have to wait for the other ones… Let’s start doing some relaxing meditation then 😉

  15. I’ve reread the Ghosts series and Ghost Exile at least 2-3 times while waiting for my next Caina instalments!! BTW, how long are we looking until the next one please?!

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you liked the book.

I’m hoping to start on GHOST IN THE THRONE before the end of September. So, it should be out before the end of 2015.

  16. She is awsome it took.me like 3 days of buying n reading to finish the first series n 2 wks to get started on the secnd series ( i started w the second series first w out reading the first)

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you liked the books.

I’m starting the next one, GHOST IN THE THRONE, a few minutes after I finish typing this comment.

      -JM

  17. Once again stuck waiting for my next Caina instalment!!! Goes without saying I love where you’re taking it and love the Caina-Kylon thing (definite cheers and “YAY!!” comments whilst reading!!)

Just wondering, is there/could there be a map of Caina’s world? I know you describe locations (really well) but I’d love to see a Middle Earth-style map like with Malarae, Catakharon, Istarinmul and all the rest in relation to each other.

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you liked the books.

I keep meaning to make a map of the Empire, but I usually wind up writing another book instead. 🙂

      1. Hopefully your next is #8 in the Exile series! I absolutely fell in love with these books, by accident! I was traveling and just looking for something to keep me busy and loved the cover of the first Ghost book. I’ve finished that and the Exile series since! Can’t wait for your next one!

        1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you liked the books.

If all goes well, I should be able to start #8 in March, so very soon now.

  18. After reading ALL the books in the ghost series and the ghost series (several times) I have concluded that I am also possessed by a demon. This one has a compulsion to read books from select authors (yours amongst them). In between reading books I hunt for authors to read their books and console myself with rereading the books I have. Seriously, I read 60+ new books per year so it has to be a demon.

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you liked the books.

Well, the devil invented forgetting, but God invented literacy, so enjoying books is clearly not a sign of possession. 🙂

  19. Hi Jonathan!
I wanted to know if you planned to translate the whole serie in French. I read it in English, but I found it so awesome that now I want to share it with my friends who are not as good as me in English. Let me know if you want someone to beta-read in French ^^
    Seraphe

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the series.

I wouldn’t object to translating any of my books into French, but I haven’t found a way to do it economically – a good translation of a novel-length work can cost upwards of $10k USD.

  20. When can we expect Ghost in the Wind? I have turned my father onto this series hoping that it would have been completed prior to him getting to book 8 but he is getting darn close.

    1. Thanks! I’m hoping to have it out in the first week of September – today we are editing Chapter 13 of 33.

  21. Please have someone proofread your books before you publish, or at least follow up on amazon kindle content error submissions and correct them. I love the writing and have read the 2 ghost series and demon-souled serious. However, there are way too many content errors. I find several per chapter. They are generally words that seem to have been auto corrected to the wrong word or missing words. Its rarely a grammar error yet the wrong word at the very least detracts from the enjoyment of reading. If you need a proof-reader let me know.

  22. I love the Ghost series. I have the whole family hooked on them. I was wondering if the is going to be another full book in the series after “Ghost in the Wind”

    1. Thanks! The next series will be called GHOST NIGHT, and the first book GHOST IN THE RING. I’ve already written the first chapter, and it should be out later this year.
