It was pretty funny, though the protagonists were reporters and I always find the trope of &#8220;heroic journalists&#8221; to be about as believable as phrenology.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Then again, the reporters in the movie were extremely shifty, which was much more believable <span class=\"pq6dq46d tbxw36s4 knj5qynh kvgmc6g5 ditlmg2l oygrvhab nvdbi5me sf5mxxl7 gl3lb2sf hhz5lgdu\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t4c\/1\/16\/1f642.png\" alt=\"\ud83d\ude42\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">It&#8217;s also interesting that 1940s movies were much more cynical that most people assume. Like, the modern perception is that entertainment in the 40s was more wholesome than it is now. It&#8217;s less graphic and gratuitous, obviously, but still quite cynical. Additionally, it was interesting to see how the &#8220;screwball&#8221; style of comedy influenced later shows &#8211; some of the scenes wouldn&#8217;t have been out of place in an episode of FRASIER.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">But! For years I&#8217;ve seen the &#8220;get out&#8221; GIF circulating on the Internet, and I was delighted to see that it originated in HIS GIRL FRIDAY. I had no idea!
