Well, I’ve recently read “Child of the Ghosts”,which is actually why I’m here. I got it for free, and I got it because of the authors you mentioned in the description. I’m a fan of both Tamora Pierce and Robin McKinley, and so I sat down and read your book over the next few days. I really did enjoy it, and am now looking to read the next books in the series. It was the first book to completely catch my attention and draw me in since a long while and I wanted to congradulate you on your awesome book.

      Hi Nikki,

Thanks for the kind words about “Child of the Ghosts”, and I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Currently there are two more “Ghosts” books – “Ghost in the Flames”, followed by “Ghost in the Blood”. Starting in January, I’m planning to write a fourth book, “Ghost in the Storm”.

There are also “Ghosts” stories in Marion Zimmer Bradley’s Sword & Sorceress 22 through 25.

      Thanks,

      -JM

I loved all three of your ghost books and thought the heroine Caina was brilliant. I also thought that Halfdan and Ark were fab, but wanted Ark and Caina to get together. Does Caina ever find romance? It would seem a shame, if she didn’t.

PS This series would make an excellent set of films. There are too many remakes at the mo and not enough originality out there! I can just see the evil Maglarion and Caina’s battle on the big screen! It would be great!

      Hi Angelina,

Thanks for the kind words about THE GHOSTS books!

As for the question about romance, I’m planning to start the next GHOSTS book, GHOST IN THE STORM, in the next few weeks. So you’ll soon have the chance to read and find out! 🙂

I was just on my kindle looking for a book about ghosts when your book popped up “child of the ghosts”. So I downloaded it, the title threw me off a bit as I thought it was about spirits. Well I’m not a big reader but I read the book in about 2 days, and I loved it so much I bought the second one and just finished reading it. Now I think I will buy the third one to read, these books are amazing they keep you guessing and feeling for Caina. Your books are great keep up the work

Hi, have just finished reading Child of the Ghosts and enjoyed it very much. Have already purchased the remaining books in this series. The unique world Caina lives in seems to be either black or white (good or evil) with little gray areas. Caina is a very strong female character I like very much. For her to endure and live after the horrors she was put through and grow into a young woman with the ability to care for others is amazing. Not to mention retaining her sanity! All the supporting characters are also amazing. Good people sometimes have to do bad things however your characters do so and remain on the side of Good. 🙂 SL

    Hi Jonathan,

I have finished the first book in the series last week. I found you on Amazon by mistake and I enjoyed the synopsis of the book – thought to give it a go.
Absolutely fell in love with Caina, because she is strong willed, stubborn and clever. The characters are believable, the way the story unfolds kept me gripped and the macabre descriptions were the icing on the cake.
Needless to say I bought the next ones in the series and I am very much looking forward to liking Caina even more!

Only words of praise from my end! Keep up the good work!

    All the best,
    Teo.

I was going on a road trip on students budget so i grabbed a whole bunch of free kindle books. I didn’t start it till a month later and I’m deeply upset with my self. AMAZING first book brought me in and didn’t let go till i finished the book couple of hours later. Starting the second book now. My comparison to this series would be Tamora Pierce’s Beka Cooper trilogy.

I haven’t read the Beka Cooper trilogy yet, though I have read some of the Alanna books.

Thanks for the kind words! I am glad you liked the books.

I’ve found that cliffhangers are a bad idea in the first book of the series, and even later books they should only be used sparingly. Like sriracha sauce.
