The books of Jonathan Moeller

Thank you!

Tomorrow I want to start publishing CLOAK GAMES: BLOOD CAST to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, iTunes, Google Play, and Smashwords.

CLOAK GAMES: BLOOD CAST is going to be my 76th novel.

That means BLOOD CAST is the 9th novel about Nadia Moran. I’ve also written 10 books about Mazael Cravenlock, 19 about Ridmark Arban, and 20 about Caina Amalas (21 if you count BLADE OF THE GHOSTS).

How many other writers get to write that many books about their characters? Not many, that’s for sure. In fact, today I read several blog posts from traditionally published authors bemoaning the state of their writing careers in 2017.

I definitely could not say that about my 2017. So, thank you, all! Thanks for coming along on Ridmark’s and Mazael’s and Caina’s (and others) journeys. I only have as many books as I do because you keep reading them.

And more to come soon. 🙂

No thank you Jonathan! I’m sitting here typing this in Nakasongola in Uganda in east Africa. I’ve been here now nearly 2 weeks helping to build a school for an orphanage in nearly 40 degree Centigrade heat. We had Sunday off and as I lay in bed exhausted after 6 days of slog I was browsing Amazon (turns out local SIM cards have better 4G than on past trips) & came across your early release of the latest Silent Order book. To say that it perked me up would be an understatement! Plus now I’ll have the next Cloak Games for the way home!

Thank you for all the books and the update. I will now turn off my OCD until sometime tomorrow and stop checking Amazon randomly on the off chance that Bloodcast is out. On a side note it took me about 2 hours to realize that I got the latest Silent Order book via KU and hadn’t bought it outright even though at $0.99 it is cheaper even than your short stories.

      Thanks!

The funny part is that so long as I keep the price for MASTER HAND at $0.99, I make more money from a full KU page read than a sale.

For a small handful of Authors I follow I will borrow first on KU then buy the book soon after so I always have it. Well for as long as Amazon is in business.

Wow. That was something else. Nadia is coming into her own. She is truly becoming a force to be reckoned with. I think I’ll reread it again tonight because it was that damn good.

      Thanks! Glad you liked it.

A writer’s opinion of his own work is always suspect, of course, but I think Chapter 13 was one of my better fight scenes.

I though the fight scene in Chapter 4 was just as good, bat-shit crazy Nadia is the best. I liked her conversation with Vander. He really helped her in terms of character development. It was good to see Robert again but I am curious to see how Valborg reacts when she sees him next. He had previously explained to her the importance of control.

    *SPOILERS AHEAD*

THAT. WAS. AWESOME. Best book of the series IMO. Also…..you gave Nadia DEFENSE!!! I laughed pretty hard when Vander had my exact same thoughts on the need for defensive spells. He literally called her a glass cannon.

And now you STILL leave us with 4 big Q’s:
    1) What’s item number 3?
    2) What’s the Sky Hammer?
    3) Why on earth would Nadia bring Russell to freaking Conner?
    4) WHEN IS NADIA GOING TO ACTUALLY NOTICE RIORDAN?

Seriously JM, one of your best books period in my humble opinion, and I should know, I’ve read most of them.

Thanks! I’m glad you enjoy it.

I’m 8500 words into LAST JUDGE, so I’m writing about some of those questions right now.

My guess on 2? A kinetic strike weapon. Some along the lines of Rods of the Gods. Check that phrase if you are curious what I mean. On the other claw would it still be in orbit after all this time and would it still be functional?

Honestly kinetic weapon is what I was looking at as well. A top-secret deep space program designed to level nations. They don’t even have to be tungsten rods….just rocks big enough get through earth’s atmosphere. Asteroids suck.

Of course it could also be something to…. idk knock the Skythrone from the sky. If Conner knew about the gathering of important Elves and humans in NY, all he really needs to do is figure out someway to keep them from fleeing to the shadowlands and then bring the throne down on their heads. A mile-wide city falling into NY would make an awfully big boom.

Along those lines, do we think Nicky needs the launch codes? Or a specific trigger hidden somewhere? Where the heck would his citadel be? Las Vegas maybe, the Nevada desert is nice and empty.

And is it just me or do we have a lot of bad guys still left? Nicholas and his minions, the Knight of Venomhold and HER minions, The Forerunner, the Dark Ones, the Archons, and a partridge in a pear tree. Oh and she has to keep Morvilind/Arvaleon/High Queen from killing her after all is said and done.

With only 2 books left I imagine only a few of the storylines will be resolved. Nicholas or theForerunner will be eliminated and the Russel/Morvilind issue will be resolved. Nadia will be freed from Morvilind but still will have issues with the High Queen. There will closure within the series but possibilities for a sequel if he so chooses. The war between the HQ and the Archons has been ongoing for centuries and the Dark Oned have been around forever. That probably isn’t going to change in 2 books. I agree about the kinetic weapon though for some reason I had an asteroid in mind. Which I know makes no sense.

No no, the asteroid thing could totally work. Sorta. I’ve had similar thoughts but we don’t have the tech right now to have something sitting in the asteroid belt. And the shot would be something like several MILLION miles. Light-speed travel in a fantasy book would be hilarious though.

Here’s why I think the Archon war MIGHT be resolved in 2 books:
            1) Morvilind had a great spell designed to destroy ALL the Archons back on Kalverion. Tarlia would let him use it.
            2) Morvilind has been preparing a new great spell for 300 years, something he needs powerful Dark one relics to accomplish.
            3) He hasn’t told anyone about the new spell, including Tarlia.
            4) Morvilind told Nadia in Tomb Howl he hated the Archons and was “…going to kill every last one of them.”
            5) Think about Morvilind’s character for a second, if you had the power of a god of old, a genius for magic that is literally legendary, a towering ego to match, and had been run off your own homeworld by a group of people you considered the lowest of the low, who had made a deal with the vilest creatures you know to even be powerful enough to stand in your presence, had preverted everything you ever held important to you, what would you want? (Man that is a run-on sentence.)
            6) In another one of JM’s series he has a character save a world, and be essentially made an outlaw as a reward. THAT character is the anti-Nadia. If Nadia kills Kalvarion (because you KNOW she is going to end up with that task somehow), and becomes “legal” because of it, the irony would really be too much.
