So Selene is one awesomely hilarious character. Or a hilariously awesome one, I haven’t decided. She talks too much, has zero social sense and rambles off into tangents as she talks, I feel a certain kinship to characters like that. And it wasn’t until she showed up I realized how austere a group your little band of adventurers is.

Cathala meanwhile is like the long lost love child of Tarrabus Carhaine and Imaria Licinius. Way too much confidence, a complete lack of anything resembling empathy, and just enough power to get way over her head. I thought you were going to go for the subtle approach as you gently had Cathala fall to the dark side, but nope she’s full Sith right from the start. I do hope you have a lovely ending planned out for her, she really deserves one.

ONE MORE THING…..HOW do you keep coming up with these names? Too many K’s JM. And Q’s. And Z’s. AND X’s. Do you just throw scrabble letters on a page and use whatever order they land in for the next name in this series? I can’t even pronounce them much less think them up.

Selene does feel like she wandered in from CLOAK GAMES or SILENT ORDER or something.

“I can’t even pronounce them much less think them up.”

Spare a thought for the poor audio book narrator, who will have to say them over and over again. The name “Nerzamdrathus” appears 110 times in UNITY. 🙂

      • “The Unpronouncably-Named Talking Rat King loosed a chittering laugh……….” Hmmm loses something in translation. And his evil sorcerer Qua…Qazald…..Quazel…..WHO USES Q AND Z IN THE SAME NAME?!?

The orcs do. A lot. 🙂 Though “Qazaldhar” is pronounced Kaz-al-dar.

          • Love the Star Wars ref., especially since when I finished the book I thought “I just got Empired by Jonathan Moeller!” Hell of a cliff hanger and I love it! I would so be wishing it was September if I didn’t love the summer so much.

Thanks! Glad you liked the book! Given how hot it is, I kind of wish it was September too. 🙂
