The Lord has been good to me – I sold 1,335 copies of my ebooks this month.
First, thank you to everyone who bought one.
Second, quite a few writer-types hang around this blog. In case you are curious, or thinking about self-epublishing our own work, I thought I would give you some hard data to crunch on to help with your own decisions.
As of right now, I have eight paid ebooks, and one free one (Demonsouled). Since Demonsouled went free in August, it’s been downloaded at least 10,000 times, which has driven sales to its two sequels, Soul of Tyrants and Soul of Serpents. As for price points, four of my books are $0.99, and the other four are $2.99. (And of those 1,335 books sold, only 421 of them were the $0.99 books.)
I started self-publishing in April, and here is what the copies sold per month have been:
April 2011: 22
May 2011: 105
June 2011: 236
July 2011: 366
August 2011: 489
September 2011: 1335
I have no idea whether this upward trend will continue or not – for all I know, the world economy will collapse by lunchtime. But that is no different than anything else in this life – we do our work as best we can, and the results are often out of our hands.
Thank you, again, to everyone who bought a book.

Congrats on the success! And with the new line of Kindles being put out (including cheaper versions), you books may have access to an even wider audience!
Thanks! That’s my hope as well.
