CLOAK OF FROST progress update
It was an annoyingly busy week in Real Life, which included such highlights as 1.) finding out my garage door hadn’t been installed properly, 2.) discovering that the garage door wasn’t balanced properly, and 3.) as a combination of the previous two factors, it was in danger of falling down.
Additionally, it was like 100 degress Fahrenheit all week, and so smoggy from the Canadian wildfires that going outside smelled like a combination of wood smoke and an industrial laundry. You know how the joke is that American movies set in Mexico always use an orange filter over the camera? It looked like that outside.
Fortunately, the garage door is functional again. A very nice man fixed it for me, and he was happy to do it, because he works on commission and the check I wrote him was painfully large. 🙂
Despite setbacks, I still managed to get past the 80,000 word mark of CLOAK OF FROST, closing out the week at 82,000 words. I really, really want to finish the rough draft next week, so we’ll see if I can pull it off.
I’m also 8,000 words into BLADE OF VISIONS, which will be my next main project once CLOAK OF FROST is done.
