A Grateful World Thanks J.R.R. Tolkien

J.R.R. Tolkien was a great man for two reasons:

1.) He wrote “The Lord of the Rings”, the best book of the 20th century.

2.) He stopped the Beatles from making a “The Lord of the Rings” film adaptation.

Sweet. Merciful. Heaven.

The Beatles making a “Rings” movie!? Can you imagine the horror? No doubt it would have been six hours of the Beatles enjoying “pipeweed”, wondering if the Dark Lord Sauron was a metaphor for Lyndon Johnson, and explaining at length why the band was bigger than Jesus, or possibly Eru Illuvatar.

A grateful world thanks you, Professor Tolkien.

  • LOL!

Wow, I had no idea! All I can say is THANK ERU ILLUVATAR it never panned out!!! The Beatles and “LOTR” go together about as much as Rudyard Kipling and Abbie Hoffman go together.

    Disaster averted ala divine intervention!
