The 70th Novel

I did some math, and SILENT ORDER: FIRE HAND was officially my 70th self-published novel! Chart below:

I think about fifty-five of those were written in the last six and a half years. I’ve been busy! (This might also explain why I never got around to finishing Skyrim, despite having bought the game in 2011.)

Thanks for reading! There would, after all, be no point in writing 70 novels if there weren’t people to read them. 🙂

Congratluations Jonathan! Not to nitpick though but wasn’t The Third Soul an 8 book series not a 3 book series making it in fact your 75th novel?

Thanks! I wrote THE THIRD SOUL as 3 novels, and then released it in eight pieces as an experiment in serialized storytelling that didn’t really work.

Thanks for the reply, also never knew about Share The Pain, just downloaded the sample and looking forward to starting it in a few days. Any plans for any other mystery novels?

Nah, it didn’t even do remotely well, so I chalked it up to a failed experiment and moved on.

There is no “finished” in Skyrim. Trust me on this…

True. Let’s say instead I never got around to finishing the main quest!

Finished Share The Pain earlier today. Was more than happy with it, kept me wondering right up to the final reveal. While it was no Frostborn/Sevenfold Sword (by far my favourite of your works) I’d be happy to buy more of Mac’s adventures. When you said it failed did you mean mainly in terms of sales?

Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it. It didn’t do at all well – I think in 6 years it’s sold just about 100 copies. But I published it when I was just starting out at self-publishing and didn’t really know what I was doing yet. Maybe if I get bored (or ambitious) I’ll repackage it with a better cover and try again.
