The information technology revolution has changed all aspects of life, just as the industrial revolution and agricultural revolution did in centuries past. Publishing books is no different.

And boy was there a lot of change in the last two weeks! I think all of Amazon’s competitors woke up and realized that 1.) Amazon makes a river of money from ebooks and audiobooks, and 2.) they want some of that river for themselves!
